Bottled Water Dispenser Vs. Water Purifier
Choose the Right Hydration Solution for Your Space
This guide compares the pros and cons of using a bottled water dispenser versus a water purifier dispenser. Both solutions can offer clean, purified water—bottled water is typically treated using similar purification processes (RO, UV, carbon filtration) at the bottling plant, while water purifiers treat water on-site at the point of use.
| Criteria | Bottled Water Dispenser | Water Purifier |
|---|---|---|
| Water Source | Pre-purified bottled water (e.g., Kisima) delivered to site; requires no plumbing. | Connects to municipal or borehole water and purifies at the point of use. |
| Purification Process | Water is purified off-site using RO, UV, and carbon filtration before bottling. This may also include ozonation and mineralising for taste. | Uses built-in RO, UV, and carbon filters to purify water on-site. Taste may vary depending on water source used. |
| Convenience | No installation needed; just plug in and load the bottle for hot, cold, ambient water. Can also work without any power. | Requires plumbing connection and professional installation. May need extra storage tanks or a pressure pump. |
| Supply Dependence | Dependent on timely bottle delivery and storage space availability. | Dependent on municipal/borehole water supply; continuous flow when available. |
| Taste & Consistency | Very consistent; bottled at a controlled facility. | Consistent and customizable; depends on filter maintenance and water source. |
| Operational Costs | Lower upfront cost but ongoing bottle expense; higher per-liter cost. | Higher initial investment; lower ongoing costs over time. |
| Maintenance | Simple: clean exterior and drip tray; replace bottles as needed. Basic service every 6 months. | Requires filter changes every 6 months and periodic internal cleaning. |
| Environmental Impact | Higher: plastic bottles and delivery logistics involved. | Lower: no bottles needed; eco-friendly and sustainable. |
| Storage & Space | Needs storage for full and empty bottles. | No bottle storage required; compact footprint. |
| Ideal Use Case | Offices or homes without plumbing access, lower usage cases (30 bottles or less a month) | Large offices, factories, and institutions with consistent supply and focus on sustainability. |
Bottled water dispensers offer convenience, consistency, and ease of use – ideal where plumbing is not available or as a backup during outages. Water purifiers provide on-demand purification, cost savings over time, and environmental benefits – ideal for high-usage environments with a reliable water supply.
Filtration Process
Aquatec Botlle Less Dispensers are designed to deliver Pure and Safe drinking water at an affordable price, and with minimum impact to the environment. Our Eevo model delivers Normal and Cold water utilising 6 stage filtration. With Stainless steel construction its ideal for high usage or outdoor environments.
1
Pre-Filter
The-pre filter is typical the first stage in the purification process. It is used to remove larger impurities such as dust, rust and sediments.
2
Sediment Filter
To remove fine particles such as salt, sand and clay
3
Pre-Carbon Filter
To absorb chlorine and other chemicals, aswell as dissolved organic compounds that may cause bad odors or taste
4
R-O. Membrane Filter
To remove dissolved salts, heavy metals (like lead, mercury), bacteria, viruses and other dissolved impurities.
5
Post-Carbon Filter
To polish the water and remove any remaining tastes or odors that may be present atfer the previous filtration stages.
6
UV Light
To disinfect the water by killing any remaining bacteria, viruses, or other microorganisms that may have passed through previous filtration stages.
